Stationed in San Diego, CA. in 1947.
After leaving the service he went to Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Ok as a "walk on" football player and became the leading full back for the team. He was honored as "Little All American" and was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams. Later he was inducted to NSU's Hall of Fame. He was best known as "COACH". He was head coach at Tahlequah High School for several years in the mid 60's and then was head coach for 21 years at Oaks, OK. He was a positive, life changing force in many of the player's lives that he coached. Most of his family still resides in Tahlequah, Ok.
