Floyd Dale Combs, enlisted in the US Army at 17, becoming a teletype operator in the Radio Research Command Unit during the Vietnam War. He received the following commendations: Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Sharpshooter Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Devise 60, Good Conduct Medal and Meritorious Unit Citation. Honorably discharged in November 1967.
