A 1999 graduate of Tahlequah High School, Sergeant Cole enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2003. He received Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma and completed Medic Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. He first deployed in 2005 with the 3rd Infantry Division (Mechanized) out of Fort Stewart, Georgia. In 2009 Greg deployed to Iraq with 82nd Airborne Division out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina. In 2013 he deployed to Afghanistan as a member of a Security Force Advisory and Assistance Team, a handpicked group of 12 that provided comprehensive training for the Afghan National Army. Sergeant Cole was Medically Discharged in 2016. Medals and Awards include; Combat Medic Badge, Basic Parachutist Badge, Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary, Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, multiple Army Commendation Medals, multiple Army Achievement Medals, 3 sets of Gold Cavalry Combat Spurs, along with Cambodian Jump Wings and Canadian Jump Wings along with numerous others.
