After graduating Tahlequah High School in 1999, Kevin joined the Air Force in February of 2001. He attended basic training in Texas, and then attended the inter-service vehicle maintenance course at Port Hueneme Naval base in Ventura, CA. His first assignment was at Scott AFB, IL for his first duty assignment in July of 2001. He spent the next 2 years honing his military skills before being transferred to Vaiano AB in Italy. After arriving in Italy, he was tasked to deploy to Iraq for the first time in 2003 where he conducted convey operations for the Army. After returning back to Vaiano AB in late 2004, he furthered his training before being resigned to Ellsworth AFB, SD in 2006. While at this duty station he would deploy to Iraq for the second time in 2008 and then to Afghanistan in 2009 to support the Joint Special Operations Command. After returning home in the summer of 2010, it was only a short time before he deployed again to Afghanistan making this his second trip to the country, and his fourth deployment of his career. Kevin was reassigned to Altus AFB, OK during the summer of 2011, where he stayed until his fifth deployment to Mamas AB, Kyrgyzstani in March of 2012. He returned to Altus in October of 2013. After spending another year in Altus, he was reassigned again in 2015 and this time heading to Tampa, FL to Madill AFB where he was assigned to a Joint service communications group known as JCSE. He spent the next 4 years in this unit supporting multiple Humanitarian relief missions at home and abroad. His latest assignment in 2019 sent him to Joint Base Charleston in South Carolina where he tends to finish his 20 year career in the spring of 2022.
