Michael Rigsby grew up in Tahlequah and is a 2008 graduate of Tahlequah High school. Michael great grandfather and grandfather were Army veterans and Michael enlisted in the Army National Guard in October of 2007 and completed his training over the course of two summers in Fort Benning Georgia. Michael served with the 45th​ Infantry out of Sand Springs, OK and deployed with the unit and serving in Afghanistan in 2012. Once he completed his deployment, Michael returned to Tahlequah and in 2017 Married his Wife Cecilia. Michael and Cecilia have one daughter Mary Alice.
